Taketoshi Minato is a researcher specializing in surface and interface science, physical chemistry, and chemical physics. He earned his Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2005, focusing on the electronic structure of titanium dioxide and its interaction with gold nanoclusters. Following his doctoral studies, he served as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN's Surface Chemistry Laboratory, advancing his research on metal oxides. In 2007, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Tohoku University, where he applied fundamental theories and experimental techniques to complex electrode/electrolyte interface systems. He later returned to RIKEN as an ASI Research Scientist and subsequently served as an Associate Professor at Kyoto University’s Office of Society-Academia Collaboration for Innovation, focusing on rechargeable battery interfaces. Since 2020, he has been a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Molecular Science, National Institutes of Natural Sciences, where he is currently advancing research in energy conversion systems. Dr. Minato is an elected Fellow of The Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science.
